Program Evaluation
Over the last number of years, Program Evaluation has become an integral part of how we manage the Centre. For each of our programs, we have established Primary Objectives, along with associated Outcome Indicators. Here are a few of our highlights
Parent Drop In
Outputs:
19,534 visits; 52% are male and 48% are female
Primary Objective:
Parent Life Skills
Outcome Indicator:
Percentage of participants who reported decreased isolation as a result of coming to the Centre.
95% of participants indicated decreased isolation as result of coming to the Centre.
Children's Program
Outputs:
1,965 children's visits
Primary Objective:
Child Development
Primary Outcome Indicator:
Percentage of participants who demonstrate an improvement in their social skills.
75% of parents/caregivers indicated that participation in the Children's Program had resulted in an increase in their children's social skills.
Parents Helping Parents
Outputs:
Offered 8 different parenting groups, with 50 sessions. 78 individuals participated in the parenting groups, with an 92% completion rate.
Primary Objective:
Parenting Skills, Strengthening Families
Primary Outcome Indicator:
Percentage of participants who report an increase in their knowledge of parenting skills.
Participants reported an 89% improvement in their knowledge of parenting skills, with an average rating of 4.7 (on a scale of 1 to 5)
Food Programming
(Food Buying Club, Emergency Food Assistance & Community Soup)
Outputs:
4,688 attendees at Community Soup, 1,150 visits to the Food Buying Club, 1,326 emergency food recipients, and 1,214 recipients of infant emergency assistance
Primary Objective
:
Parent Life Skills
Outcome Indicator:
Percentage of participants who report an increased ability to stretch their food budget.
84% of participants reported that Food Programming helped them stretch their food budget and feed their family
Aboriginal Head Start
Outputs:
40 child participants, with 9 of them graduating to grade 1 this year.
Primary Objective:
Child Development, School Readiness
Outcome Indicator:
Percentage of participants who show an improvement in their social skills as a result of the Head Start program.
Staff assessment indicated that 90% of Head Start children showed an improvement in their social skills.
Pritchard Place Drop In
Outputs:
301 children registered, 44% female and 56% male. Average weekday attendance is 34. 21,054 meals & snacks served per year.
Primary Objective:
Child Safety
Outcome Indicator:
Percentage of particpants who report that Pritchard Place Drop In helps them to feel safe.
92% of participants indicate that they feel safe at PPDI and 100% of parent respondents feel their child is safe at PPDI
Community Addictions Program
Outputs:
75 individual sessions, 40 referrals, 3 staff trainings, and 24 "Ask the Drug Lady" questions answered
Primary Objective:
Participant Life Skills
Outcome Indicator:
Percentage of participants who show increased knowledge of the impact of substances.
Participants of the Centre showed a 21% increase in awareness of the impact of substances and a 19% increase in their ability to keep themselves safe.
Volunteer Program
Outputs:
36 regular/core & 50 occasional volunteers, contributing over 3,680 volunteer hours
Primary Objective:
Improved life skills
Outcome Indicator:
Percentage of participants who report an increased ability to connect with the people in their community.
52% of respondents reported increased confidence and 35% indicated that their confidence was already high when they began. Note - 92% of board members are community volunteers and 83% of staff were community volunteers first.
